Santa Barbara has special meaning to me. It’s where I “retreated” to weeks before I began Women4Success.

You see, before I started my business, I found myself in quite a pickle. My husband had recently lost his job, we had mounting credit card bills and we had few prospects in our immediate future. With a child to care for, I was frustrated and resentful for being “stuck” in such an awful situation.

One day, I woke up and decided I needed to get away. I told my husband I needed to sort myself out and took off for Santa Barbara. I checked into a hotel, cried my heart out to anyone who would listen and slowly began to examine my situation.

After four days of walking on the beach, journaling and praying I finally had an “a-ha” moment. I realized I had a choice: I could continue feeling sorry for myself and get nowhere or I could take action.

I realized that if I wanted to provide a certain quality of life for myself and my children, I would need to change my views toward our situation and develop the ability and power to earn an income that would ensure a comfortable living for my family, regardless of my husband’s employment status.

I came home with a wonderful gift. I felt a renewed commitment to my marriage and a freedom I had not felt in a very long time. I felt hope.

With the support of coaching, soon after I established Women4Success. Ever since, for nearly a decade I have devoted my time and energy to empowering women to achieve the personal and professional lives of their dreams.

Includes two-nights lodging, double occupancy in Safari Tent. Spacious canvas safari tents are built on raised 12" x 14" wooden decks. They have screened windows and doors with zip-down flaps. Featured in all tents are two double beds. Tents come complete with bed linen, extra bedding, towels, and lighting. Bathhouses are conveniently located nearby.

Includes two-nights lodging, double occupancy in Cedar Cabin with two double beds, fireplace, Jacuzzi/bathtub, and kitchenette. Natual materials and luxury linens combine to create a calm, restful experience. Cabins are equipped with electricity, wet bar with sink and refrigerator. Linens, extra bedding, towels, and toiletries are provided. All Cabins have telephones.

Includes two-nights lodging, single occupancy in Cedar Cabin with Queen sized bed, kitchenette, bathroom, and sleeping loft. Natual materials and luxury linens combine to create a calm, restful experience. Cabins are equipped with electricity, wet bar with sink and refrigerator. Linens, extra bedding, towels, and toiletries are provided. All Cabins have telephones.

Reminiscence of 2006 Retreat

The retreat was such a great time to bond and learn from other women. Even though we all come from different businesses and industries, we have so many things in common. It is very important to have a sense of community - especially if you're a solopreneur. This retreat really helped me gain focus and clarity as to where I want my business to go in the coming years.
